Liturgy of the Word for Children is a planned faith experience which enables the children of our parish (typically ages 5-10) to participate in the Liturgy of the Word segment of the Mass as fully as their age and development will allow.
At the 10:30am Sunday Mass the children are invited to leave the main assembly to hear Scripture and a reflection that have been specifically adapted and designed for them. After professing their faith and praying for others in a separate worship space, the children return to their parents in the main assembly during the Offertory Song.
Adult catechists and helpers guide the children each week in the St. Francis Room.
Children Celebrate! from Pflaum Gospel Weeklies is used each Sunday for Children's Liturgy of the Word. The Gospel is summarizes in a language appropriate for young children. Full color leaflets are included for each child that retell the Scripture message in a way that is meaningful for children.
See the link at the left for additional family activities from Pflaum Gospel Weeklies.
See the document at the bottom for the catechist and helper ministry schedule.
All children are welcome to attend any given Sunday and there is no need to register.
